Tensils2go creator Kathy Reynolds encouraged patrons at Earthwise Living Day, held Saturday at Leon Valley's Community Center, to use, wash and reuse metal utensils rather than disposing of plasticware day after day. Her colorful handmade napkin-and-utensil sets were offered for sale.

A variety of plants, including this succulent, were available for purchase at Earthwise Living Day, held Saturday at the Leon Valley Community Center. Free trees were given away to Leon Valley residents to help achieve the city's goal of 20,000 additional trees planted by 2020.

Beautiful orchids for sale at Earthwise Living Day in Leon Valley were enhanced by shafts of sunlight as the weather turned bright and balmy, a gift for which Leon Valley Mayor Chris Riley, a co-founder of Earthwise Living Day, said she was ecstatic.
